Lecture to focus on the history of education in the United States
Benjamin Justice, professor of education at Rutgers University, will give a lecture titled “Education and the American Empire, from Colonial times to the present” from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday, November 7, in room 347 of the Academic B building on the Binghamton University campus. The lecture and follow-up discussion is free and open to the public.
Benjamin Justice is an associate professor of education in the Department of Educational Theory, Policy, and Administration at the Graduate School of Education at Rutgers University. His research and courses focus on school reform, the history of education, elementary and secondary social studies education, issues in African-American education, and education and popular culture.
The lecture is co-sponsored by the Center for the Teaching of American History at Binghamton University, the Tompkins-Seneca-Tioga BOCES and Broome-Tioga BOCES.
