During the dinner, S3IP will join the Southern Tier Opportunity Coalition (STOC) in honoring three individuals for their hard work, dedication and excellence in enabling economic development in the Southern Tier. The Technology Leader of the Year recognition will be awarded to an individual who has shaped the technology community through leadership in small-scale systems. The Technology Entrepreneur of the Year will be awarded to an individual who has contributed to the development of the technology economy through the formation of new businesses, generation of wealth and exemplifying the risk-taking entrepreneurial spirit. The Technology Mentor of the Year will honor an individual who has shaped the technology community through championing the STOC vision as well as by offering their time, expertise and knowledge networks in support of individual technology companies.
The dinner will feature remarks by U.S. Rep. Maurice D. Hinchey (D-N.Y.) and Bahgat Sammakia, S3IP director, who will provide a brief overview of current project and activities. John Hayek, STOC’s executive director, will join Assemblywoman Donna Lupardo in presenting the technology awards.
The keynote speaker is Frank Murray, president and chief executive officer of the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority.
