The well-established International Summer Campus at Hanyang University brings together students and faculty from institutions all over the globe for this 4-week summer program. Over 40 courses are taught in English in a wide-range of subjects including Korean Studies, Humanities, Business, Economics, International Relations, Media, Design, Science, Sports and Korean Language by professors from some of the most prominent institutions world-wide. Binghamton students live in residence halls on the main campus in Seoul and participate in optional cultural activities and day trips to locations of interest in and around Seoul.
The Republic of Korea, known as South Korea, is a country of some 44 million people. With its own distinctive history and culture, it also represents the triumphs and challenges of East Asia's modernization, economic expansion, and contraction. Korea is an excellent vantage point from which to view the region's international cooperation, competition, and conflicts. Seoul, the capital city, provides a lively setting for summer study at Hanyang University. It is a modern, cosmopolitan city where students can visit Korea's historic palaces, museums, and temples and attend all manner of musical and theatrical performances. The variety of restaurants, cafes, shops, flea markets, sports competitions, and cultural events offers something for every individual interest. Hanyang University is located in Seoul's downtown district known as Haengdang-dong, north of the Han River. Within ten minutes walk of the campus are theaters, shops, restaurants, cafes, and night spots. The campus has its own subway conveniently located on Line 2 (green line), Seoul's most heavily used subway line, for easy access to the rest of the city. There are also multiple bus connections to make transportation around the city easy.
The International Summer School at Hanyang University takes place during the month of July. Dormitory Check-in takes place between June 27th-29th, 2013. Orientation is on July 1st, 2013 and classes take place between July 2nd-28th.
