University of East Anglia: Study Abroad & Exchange: Academic Features

The University of East Anglia (UEA) is one of the most successful new British universities. Founded in 1963, programs in the humanities, social sciences and sciences are offered to 9,600 undergraduates and 3,100 postgraduates.
There are 1,500 international students from 100 countries worldwide. UEA is organized in 18 schools of study. With an educational philosophy that views breadth of knowledge to be as important as specialization, interdisciplinary study is encouraged.

The University is a leading member of the Norwich Research Park, one of Europe's largest and most successful single-site concentrations of research and development in the areas of plants, microbes, food, diet and health; the
environment and information systems. Pre-medical students can arrange to take their MCAT examinations in London.

Students are admitted to the school of their major interest, and must take at least one course in their field. Participants are encouraged to take a range of courses. UEA offers a rich array of courses about British and European history, politics, economics, philosophy, literature and the arts. Each student will be assigned an academic advisor to assist in planning a program of study and answering any academic questions that arise.
