This unique summer program offers students hands-on experience in business and marketing research in Shanghai. Shanghai is not only one of the key financial centers of the 21st-Century, it also is China’s major urban metropolis, the hub of China’s business, cultural, educational, and entertainment worlds. Fudan University, one of China’s most prestigious institutions of higher learning, has specially designed this six-week program for Binghamton University students. The curriculum includes rigorous courses in Advanced Chinese, Business Chinese, and a variety of Topics courses focusing on areas such as Hot Spots in the Chinese Economy, Chinese Business Strategies, and Business Case Studies, all to be taught in Chinese.
While students will have ample contact hours in the classroom, the centerpiece of the program will involve on-site, hands-on experience in off-campus businesses and real-life marketing research. This will allow students to employ both their Chinese language skills and their classroom-acquired knowledge of Chinese business and marketing to conduct interviews, collect data, and write research reports, which will be presented to the class at the end of the program.
The next application deadline will be March 1, 2013 to participate in the summer 2013 program. The program will run for 6 weeks from May 25 - July 7, 2013. Students will make independent flight arrangements and may select a return date after the end of the program if you wish to travel.
