9:00 am - 3:00 pm: Check-in & Move-in
2:30 pm - 3:00 pm: A Parent (Guardian) Primer on Life in Hinman College- Parents and guardians of first year Hinman College residents are invited to let their student finish unpacking and begin getting to know their roommate, while you join the Assistant Director of Residential Life for Hinman College, to find out a bit more about your student’s living experience in Hinman . This will include ways you can help your student be successful in the adjustment to living on campus, and an opportunity to meet the staff: the Faculty Master, a central figure and resource in the Hinman community, the three Resident Directors and two Assistant Resident Coordinators, professional administrators who live in an apartment in the hall; and our office secretarial staff, all of whom will work with and help your students develop and gain the most from their on campus experience throughout the year.

3:30 pm - 4:00 pm: Welcome to Hinman
- Mandatory for students.
- Join us on the hill for the traditional big welcome! Here’s your first chance to meet your community leaders: the Assistant Director, Faculty Master, Resident Directors, Assistant Resident Coordinators and Hinman College Council Executive Board.
- Where: Hinman Hill
4:00 pm - 4:30 pm: Building-wide meetings
- Mandatory for students.
- Led by the Professional Staff, building-wide meetings are a great chance to learnmore about the Resident Assistant staff, thank your Welcome Back Crew and meet your hall ResCon as well (Residential Consultant for computer assistance).
- Where: Main Lounges
4:30 pm - 5:00 pm: Floor Meetings
- Mandatory for students.
- Floor meetings are led by your Resident Assistant. Get to know the other new students on your floor and discuss policies.
- Where: By Floors
5:00 pm - 5:20 pm: Gathering of the Class
- Where: Meet your RA outside by your hall's main entrance
5:30 pm - 7:00 pm: Convocation
- Receive your official welcome to the Binghamton University family. Dr. C. Peter Magrath, President of Binghamton University, will address the entering class. President Magrath's address will be followed by this year's Keynote Speaker, Arel Moodie.
- Arel Moodie is an expert on helping students start taking action toward their goals. His story to success has already been featured in the book Student Entrepreneurs and in Millennial Leaders where he’s named one of the Country’s Top Generation Y Leaders. He is a featured speaker on the Extreme Entrepreneurship Tour. His extremely funny and energetic style draws from personal experience and universal principles of success. Arel is well known for connecting with audiences and breaking down the ‘I’m too cool for this” mentality.

5:30 pm - 8:00 pm: Fresh Kosher Pizza

7:00 pm - 8:30 pm: New Student Picnic
- Enjoy some time with your new friends while feasting on BBQ.
- Where: Meet your RA outside of your hall's main entrance (picnic located in the Peace Quad)
10:00 pm: Trivia Night
- You don't want to miss this! Come to the Hinman Dining Hall and play team trivia Music EDITION! One of the most popular Res Life programs, Trivia night includes snacks, prizes, and a lot of fun!

- Join us for a bagel brunch and get to know Hinman from a transfer student's perspective! Meet Hinman staff members and other transfer students.

1:00 pm - 2:00 pm: Hinman Involvement Fair
- Do you want to get involved or want to know what goes on in Hinman? You can meet and ask questions to Hinman College Council, the Hinman Production Company, the Co-Rec Commissioner(s), Student Fellows, Al Vos the Service Guru, and more! Come be a part of the Hinman Spirit!
- Where: Hinman Lower Dining Hall
2:00 pm - 4:00 pm: Tour of Hinman College & Campus
- Welcome Back Crew leads a tour of Hinman College and Campus. See your mailbox, Hinman library, and the Hinman Office. Best yet, each tour is personalized to show you wher your classes are located. Tours leave at 2, 2:15, 2:30, and 3:00pm.
- Where: Hinman Patio
4:00 pm - 5:00 pm: Volley-Bonanza
- The fun keeps going! Hinman College Council will be putting together a pick-up volleyball match at the top of the hill. Come on up and meet your fellow Hinman-ites!
- Where: Top of the Hill behind Roosevelt/Smith
5:00 pm - 7:00 pm: Hinman BBQ
- The party begins! Come to this block-party style event featuring food, games, and an opportunity to buy a real Hinman treat from Hinman College Council!

11:00 am - 2:00 pm: Co-Rec 101
- Co-Rec football, founded in here in Hinman, is one of our biggest traditions. Join seasoned Co-Rec players in a quick intro and pick-up game for touch-football where the quaterbacks are female!
- Where: Co-Rec Field behind Roosevelt Hall
7:00 pm: Floor Meetings
- Mandatory for students.
- The first floor meeting of the year - join your Resident Assistant along with new and returning hall residents. Get to know your neighbors, and set ground rules for issues like noise and studying.
- Where: By Floor
After Floor Meetings: Ice Cream Socials
- Directly following floor meetings: Satisfy your sweet tooth as you join your building in a last hurrah before classes begin on Monday. Faculty Fellows and Student Fellows (former Hinman students still involved) will be available to answer questions.
