9:00 am - 3:30 pm: New Student Check-in and Move-in
9:00 am - 3:00 pm: T-Shirt and Free Water
- Buy your Mountainview t-shirt and enjoy a refreshing, free bottle of water.
- Where: Appalachian Center, Mountainview Dining Hall
- Families should attend the 3:30 session listed below.
- Students, this is your opportunity to meet the Resident Director (RD), Resident Assistants (RA), and Res. Con of your hall. Learn about community standards and expectations and ask questions. Meet the area staff that will be helping you throughout the year.
- Where: Your hall's Great Room
3:30 - 4:30 pm: Family Welcome to Mountainview Meeting
- Student should attend the 3:30 Building-Wide Meeting listed above.
- Take advantage of this unique opportunity to hear from both the Assistant Director & the Faculty Master of Mountainview College. Learn about staffing and facilities in Mountainview, your student's safety, University policies and so much more!
- Where: Appalachian Center Room 111, Mountainvew Dining Hall
4:15 - 5:00 pm: First Floor Meeting With Your RA
- This will be your chance to get to know your RA on a more personal level, as well as meet your fellow residents. This meeting will give you helpful information on how to live successfully in the residence hall.
- Where: On Your Floor
5:00 - 5:20 pm: Walk to Convocation as a Community
- Where: Meet outside on Mountainview Basketball Court
5:30 pm - 7:00 pm: Convocation
- Receive your official welcome to the Binghamton University family. Dr. C. Peter Magrath, president of Binghamton University, will address the entering class. President Magrath's address will be followed by this year's Keynote Speaker, Arel Moodie.
- Arel Moodie is an expert on helping students start taking action toward their goals. His story to success has already been featured in the book Student Entrepreneurs and in Millennial Leaders where he’s named one of the Country’s Top Generation Y Leaders. He is a featured speaker on the Extreme Entrepreneurship Tour. His extremely funny and energetic style draws from personal experience and universal principles of success. Arel is well known for connecting with audiences and breaking down the ‘I’m too cool for this” mentality.

7:00 pm: New Student Picnic
- Where: Peace Quad
8:30 pm (or after picnic): In-Hall Game Night / Planned by Hall Staff

- Bring your schedule, and a list of places you need to go, and learn how to find your way around campus before classes start
- Where: Freshmen meet on the basketball court and Transfers meet in Appalachian 111
5:00 - 7:00 pm: Opening BBQ
- Come out and play and eat with a great barbecue at the Mountainview Dining Hall
- Where: Appalachian Center, Mountainview Dining Hall
7:00 - 8:00 pm: Mountainview Scavenger Hunt
- Come put on your detective hat and find out some interesting trivia about Mountainview College. The winning team will receive gift certificates to the Bookstore.
- Where: Mountainview Amphitheater
9:00 pm: Late Nite Binghamton

11:00 - 4:00 pm: University Fest
- A welcome festival for everyone. FREE FOOD AND SODA, live music, carnival rides, student groups, vendors...and lots of posters.
- Where: Peace Quad
7:00 pm: Mountainview College Council Party
- The Executive Board of Mountainview College Council would like to invite you to an informal information session! Come and join us to learn about community government! Learn what positions are available, responsibilities, and what the elections timeline will look like. Come enjoy free ice cream and learn how you can make a difference in you community. Attendance at this event is strongly encouraged if you are at all interested in holding a community government position or hall government position. COME OUT AND GET A CHANCE TO BUY YOUR MOUNTAINVIEW T-Shirt!

- Get to know the gem of Binghamton University through a guided tour of The Nature Preserve right in your back yard.

8:00 pm: First Floor Meeting with Whole Floor
- Now you will get to meet all the residents on your floor, both new and returning.
- Where: Your Floor
9:00 pm: One More Chance to Party Before Classes Start!
- A chance to meet new friends and hang out with old ones with free food and games sponsored by Mountainview College Council.
