Welcome to Pre-Law Advising
Binghamton University offers students the opportunity to prepare for law school while pursuing their choices of majors.Binghamton University has long been recognized by law schools for the high caliber of our students. Our seniors and alumni applicants consistently exceed national acceptance rates to law school. The number of Harpur graduates applying to law school (either as seniors or after graduation) averages 18-21% of a Harpur College class. Binghamton graduates attend a large number of law schools nationwide.
While most Binghamton applicants have attended Harpur College of Arts and Sciences, graduates of the schools of management, engineering, nursing and the College of Community and Public Affairs also seek a legal education.
Pre-law advising at Binghamton University is a campus-wide service available to students and alumni that are interested in pursuing a career in law. We assist law school applicants throughout the law application process, offer walk-ins, call-in and scheduled appointments; host student meetings and workshops; provide up-to-date law-related announcements. We also have a collection of pre-law resources (on careers, LSAT, law schools, etc.) in our office library.
Pre-law advising works closely with professionals campus-wide to provide and promote various law-related opportunities; including internships, awards, awards, and co-sponsors the Binghamton University Annual Law Day.
