10 Courses:
Begins at the Elementary Italian level (ITAL 111 and/or ITAL 115 Elementary Italian OR ITAL 113 Accelerated Elementary Italian).
A. One (1) Elementary Italian course
- If both 111 and 115 courses are taken, only one course will count toward the major. – If 113 is taken, it is equivalent to 111 and 115 combined and counts as one course.
B. Four (4) courses at the 400-level (3 of which must be taken atBinghamton)
C. Five (5) courses to be selected from 200-, 300- or above levels
(Elementary Italian knowledge or equivalent preparation)
10 Courses:
Begins at the Intermediate Italian level (ITAL 211 or above)
A. Four (4) courses at the 400-level (3 of which must be taken at Binghamton)
B. Six (6) courses to be selected from 200-, 300- or above levels
A minimum grade of "C" is required for any course in Italian applied toward the major and defines "satisfactory performance" in the course.
- Occasionally one 300-level course may substitute for a 400-level course with permission of student's advisor.
- Courses from other institutions or Study Abroad, especially at the 400-level, must be approved by student's advisor.
- At least three (3) 400-level courses must be taken on campus.
