Throughout the decade of its existence, the Binghamton University Scholars Program has broadened the scholastic experience of a multitude of exemplary students working in a myriad of disciplines across the five colleges and schools with undergraduate programs within Binghamton University. We believe that it would be beneficial to you, its alumni, to be able to draw on this rich and diverse resource, and also to current Scholars, to be able to connect to their alumni counterparts. Our aim in establishing this online community is to create a forum for professional networking, connecting with alumni and students who share similar and/or related intellectual interests, and for reconnecting with past classmates. Some of the possibilities for this community include: establishing contacts for the job market and posting job and internship announcements. Furthermore, this forum will enable the Scholars Program to inform you about events that it is organizing: guest speakers, lectures, student conferences, reunions, etc.
At the moment, we are developing this community through our very own Facebook page, which may be viewed at this link: http://www.facebook.com/home.php?sk=group_125200004206798&ap=1. Please note that, even if you are not a member of Facebook , you will still be able to view this page with ease and be apprised of our activities throughout each semester without having to go through any additional registration procedures. We have decided to establish a Facebook presence for two reasons: firstly, many of you perhaps already have a Facebook account, and secondly, we believe that this will allow for the most direct and interactive communication among the members of our wide alumni community as well as current students.
We are excited about this project and look forward to you helping us build this community. If you would like to participate in the Binghamton University Scholars Community, please visit the Facebook page shown above and sign in. We sincerely hope that it will benefit your professional and scholarly endeavors. Thank you for your time.
