Welcome Scholars Class of 2013
From Director, Binghamton Scholars Program

It is my honor to welcome you to the Binghamton Scholars Program. We hope to make your time at Binghamton University challenging, rewarding and enjoyable.

The Scholars experience may take two slightly different tracks. Some of you may find it useful to enroll in a Scholars-only freshman year experience course, SCHL 127. That course is offered to you to help you get off to a great start. Others may choose to take SCHL 227 which focuses on developing leadership and project              management skills as well as having a ton of fun! Every Scholars student must take one SCHL 227   during your stay with us. You may opt to take a second one in lieu of the SCHL 127 course if that fits better with your interests and needs.

The handbook you have received lays out all the requirements for the   program. Perhaps the most important requirement that I need to point out is the GPA requirement. To stay in the Scholars        Program, you need to keep your GPA at or above 3.25. That is the bottom line. There are no appeals. I feel certain that the 3.25 GPA should not be a problem for any of you.  If you feel that you may not be able to achieve this GPA, please contact me so that I can connect you with any assistance that may be needed.
