Undergraduate Semester Checklist

Before semester starts

• Secure housing on campus or off campus
• Choose Meal Plan and/or make deposit into BUC$ account
• Finalize financial aid
• Review payment/billing procedures and add authorized payers
• Sign up for direct deposit for financial aid refund via BU BRAIN 
• New students: Activate your Binghamton email account (BMail); submit your completed health forms; submit your final high-school or college transcript(s) to undergraduate admissions.
• Explore part-time student employment opportunities and internships
• New students: Sign up for RAVE
• Purchase parking permit online
• Lost or damaged Student ID? Replace your Student ID.
• Move-in checklist
• Obtain enrollment verification/proof of enrollment if required (available one week prior to the start of semester)
• Complete AlcoholWise (Fall only: First-time, full-time undergraduate students)

Beginning of semester

• New students: View and/or print a first week of classes checklist
• Clear holds on student account balance that may prevent course registration
• Register for Courses
• Order textbooks
• Confirm Enrollment (required fall, spring and summer semesters)
• Pay your semester bill via QuikPAY and add an Authorized User. (Unless you add an authorized payer, only you will be able to view, access and pay your bill.)
• Add/drop deadline (approximately 2 weeks into semester)
• Code of Conduct
• Grade option change
• Check DARS and meet with academic advisor if necessary
• Update all personal and emergency contact info

Mid semester

• If graduating at end of semester, file an Application for Degree and Commencement Participation Form, both available at www.commencement.binghamton.edu.
• Late add/drop deadline (fee)
• Declare your major (deadline: end of sophomore year). See academic advising.
• Withdrawal Deadline
• Pre-register for next semester
• Check Final Exam Schedule
• If graduating at end of semester, clear balance to assure diploma is mailed

End of semester

• Clear student account balance and holds
• Check grades

 Reminder: Binghamton University's official means of communication is via e-mail to each student's Binghamton e-mail address. Please check it often and respond!
