Go to the Office of International Programs, located in G-1 of Nelson A. Rockefeller Center (777-2336), and review possible programs. If you find a program that interests you, obtain the appropriate application forms.
Complete program application(s), allowing enough time to gather recommendations, transcripts, approvals, etc.
See an academic advisor in AA-142 to review the number of liberal arts credits and/or free elective credits you will have available for transfer.
Prepare the personal statement and leave it with the coordinator of undergraduate advising (AA-142) for review and signature.
When you are admitted to a study-abroad program, gather information on course offerings and descriptions.
Obtain a transfer credit petition from the SOM Advising Office. Complete the petition, and submit it with the appropriate documentation required for approval. Remember: some course work is not transferable, so be sure you gain approval prior to taking any coursework to insure that it will transfer.
While you are out of the country, be sure to respond to advance registration material sent to you by the Office of International Programs to assure your registration for your next semester in residence on the Binghamton campus.
School of Management students are eligible for the Rosefsy Scholarship, which provides financial aid to students engaged in overseas studies.
Students enrolled in Binghamton-sponsored study abroad programs do not need to be readmitted after studying abroad. Students in such programs not sponsored by Binghamton do need to be readmitted. Programs sponsored by other SUNY campuses generally allow you to register at your home campus and therefore do not require you to seek readmission. Programs from non-SUNY colleges will require such readmission, however.
