Because our program is small and top-quality, applications are not accepted in all concentrations every year. When preparing your application, you should contact Marie Iobst at miobst@binghamton.edu or 607-777-6571 to make sure your application will be accepted into the concentration that is of interest to you.
Q. Will I get an assistantship?
A: All students admitted into the Ph.D. program will be offered assistantships which include both a full tuition scholarship plus a stipend of $17,000 (currently) a year. The assistantships will be renewed each year, for a maximum of four years, conditional on "satisfactory" performance, as determined by a member of the area faculty.
Q. What is the deadline for applications?
A: Applications should be in the Graduate Office by Feb. 15 so that they can be processed and sent to School of Management by March 1 when the review of applications will begin.
Q. What are the requirements for admission to the Ph.D. program?
A:

Q. What are the average and GMAT and TOEFL scores and GPA for those accepted into your program?
A: Scores for the GMAT for applicants to the doctoral program averaged 670 for those who are accepted. The average score for TOEFL is 625. Typically, applicants should have at least a GPA of 3.2 in undergraduate work and 3.5 in graduate work. The average GPA for those admitted into the program is 3.71.
Q. Are GRE's accepted instead of GMAT?
A: The GRE's will be accepted if you have already taken the exam; however, the GMAT is strongly preferred. If you are using the GRE's, they are looking for an almost perfect score in the Quantitative section (95% +) and at least 80 percent in the Verbal and Analytical sections of the exam.
