NAASA started as an accounting society with the mission of developing members professionally in order to give them an edge when it comes to thriving in the business world. The national chapter changed the organization's name to Ascend, seeking to reflect a change in focus regarding the development of members. We wanted to take away the notion that we are an accounting-only society. We now focus on all professions in the business world. Beyond that, we are also expanding our focus to other majors beyond SOM and economics. The national organization believes that anyone can make use of what we have to offer.
