data collection using ScanFobs and Card sWipe readers
In addition to iPod Touch devices for survey administration, our office offers two other methods of data collection--Scanfobs and Card Swipe Readers--both of which can assist your department/unit in obtaining information on student participation.
Scanfobs
Scanfobs are portable devices that operate using Bluetooth technology to scan an ID barcode. This allows the user to track headcounts and then use the data to perform data analysis.

Card Swipe Readers
Likewise, Card Swipe Readers are devices that are used to collect ID numbers. However, whereas Scanfobs can be used independently, Card Swipe Readers do not have any internal memory and thus must be connected to a computer in order to operate.
