In September 2007, Binghamton University became a leading signatory of the American College and University Presidents Climate Commitment. The commitment calls for colleges and universities to exercise leadership in their communities and throughout society by modeling ways to minimize global warming emissions and by providing both the knowledge and the educated graduates to achieve climate neutrality. By joining this initiative, Binghamton University has committed to eliminate, over time, the greenhouse gas emissions from its campus.
