Originally from Birmingham, Alabama, she has lived in Broome County for 20 years this year, 2004. She attended undergraduate school in Alabama, at a small liberal arts college in Montevallo, Alabama. From there she went on to grad school at The University of Illinois, where she studied costume design and costume technology.
