Accessing Journal Article from Libraries Website

The majority of the e-reserve journal articles are available in print or via library subscription databases. Students will need the journal article citation to find the article. Below are instructions for finding articles from a citation.

Example:

Beachy, R. N. (2010). Science and Sustainability: The Emerging Consensus. BioScience, 60(6), 406-407. doi:10.1525/bio.2010.60.6.2

Option #1

If there is a ‘DOI’ (digital object identifier) number in the citation:

On campus: enter the DOI number in a Google search box to find the article.

Off-campus: use our citation linker (located on the Library A-Z list); enter DOI and click on ‘Look Up.’

Option #2

Click on the Journals & eBooks tab from the Libraries homepage at http://library.binghamton.edu/

Enter the name of the journal title – BioScience – in the search box and choose ‘Title Equals’ from drop down box; hit search.

From the result page, if available electronically, choose a database from the list based on the publication date (note: there may be more than one database option); click on name of database to access articles.
