Directions to Binghamton University:

Binghamton University is located one mile west of the city of Binghamton and is a short drive from major urban centers in New York and neighboring states. The University is 45 miles (about 1 hour) from Ithaca, 70 miles (about 1 1/2 hours) from Syracuse, 190 miles (about 3 hours) from Philadelphia, and 200 miles (about 3 hours) from New York City. Approximate driving time from Albany is 2 1/2 hours, 3 hours from Rochester, 4 1/2 hours from Buffalo.


From Southern New England and Down State New York take the NYS Thruway (87) to Exit 16 (Harriman Exit) to Route 17 WEST. Continue on Route 17 WEST to Exit 70 OUTH (Route 201). Follow Route 201 south and SUNY signs, cross the bridge heading to Vestal, Rt. 434 and SUNY. There are signs marking the route to campus. Move to left lane as you cross bridge and follow signs to Route 434 East (Binghamton). The main entrance to the university is about 1/4 mile after you enter route 434 East.

From Northern New England and the Albany-Oneonta, NY area take I-88 WEST to I-81 SOUTH to Route 17 WEST. Continue on Route 17 WEST to Exit 70 SOUTH (Route 201). Follow Route 201 and SUNY signs, cross the bridge heading to Vestal, Rt. 434 and SUNY. There are signs marking the route to campus. Move to left lane as you cross bridge and follow signs to Route 434 East (Binghamton). The main entrance to the university is about 1/4 mile after you enter route 434 East.

From West of Binghamton, follow Route 17 EAST to Exit 70 SOUTH (Route 201). Follow Route 201 and SUNY signs, cross the bridge heading to Vestal, Rt. 434 and SUNY. There are signs marking the route to campus. Move to left lane as you cross bridge and follow signs to Route 434 East (Binghamton). The main entrance to the university is about 1/4 mile after you enter route 434 East.

From Syracuse and North of Binghamton take I-81 South to Route 17 WEST to Exit 70 SOUTH (Route 201). Follow Route 201 and SUNY signs, cross the bridge heading to Vestal, Rt. 434 and SUNY. There are signs marking the route to campus. Move to left lane as you cross bridge and follow signs to Route 434 East (Binghamton). The main entrance to the university is about 1/4 mile after you enter route 434 East.

From Ithaca take Route 96B to Route 17 EAST in Owego, take Exit 70 SOUTH (Route 201). Follow Route 201 and SUNY signs, cross the bridge heading to Vestal, Rt. 434 and SUNY. There are signs marking the route to campus. Move to left lane as you cross bridge and follow signs to Route 434 East (Binghamton). The main entrance to the university is about 1/4 mile after you enter route 434 East.

From Pennsylvania take I-81 NORTH across the New York State border to Route 17 WEST. Take Route 17 WEST to Exit 70 SOUTH (Route 201). Follow Route 201 and SUNY signs, cross the bridge heading to Vestal, Rt. 434 and SUNY. There are signs marking the route to campus. Move to left lane as you cross bridge and follow signs to Route 434 East (Binghamton). The main entrance to the university is about 1/4 mile after you enter route 434 East.

From Metropolitan New York at Tappan Zee Bridge take the Thruway 87 NORTH. Take the Harriman Exit to Route 17 WEST. Take Route 17 WEST to Exit 70 SOUTH (Route 201). Follow Route 201 and SUNY signs, cross the bridge heading to Vestal, Rt. 434 and SUNY. There are signs marking the route to campus. Move to left lane as you cross bridge and follow signs to Route 434 East (Binghamton). The main entrance to the university is about 1/4 mile after you enter route 434 East.

Directions from the Binghamton Regional Airport

  • To the Binghamton University campus - including Engineering Building
    Binghamton Regional Airport is located approximately eight miles north of Binghamton. It is reached by a single main road (Airport Road) which intersects with Route 17. To reach campus or the hotels located on Route 434, follow Airport Road south to the Route 17 interchange (exit 71) take the Route 17 West entrance toward Johnson City and Endicott. Travel about one mile to the next interchange (Exit 70) and take Exit 70S leading to Route 201 South. Follow this road to signs to the Binghamton University Campus across a bridge to Route 434 East.  There is a visitors' information booth near the main entrance.

Directions to the Innovative Technologies Complex - including Engineering and Science Building and Biotechnology Building and Rotunda

The Innovative Technologies Complex is located at 85 Murray Hill Road just east of the main Vestal Parkway entrance to the campus. You can see the complex from the main road.

You will enter the ITC facility from Murray Hill Road on the south side of the Parkway and bear left along the driveway to enter from the back of the building.

Metered parking is available in the first row.

Enter at the circular entrance marked by black stone pillars beside the two-story black photovoltaic solar wall. The dean's office is to the immediate left at this first floor entrance. Room ES-2008 is on the second floor above the Rotunda.
