Visual Systems Specifications and Acceptance Tests

About the Course

Derivation of Requirements: An overview of methods by which visual system requirements are derived from task objectives is presented. The focus in this course is on specifying the visual system to meet derived task requirements, but understanding the process by which technical requirements are derived is essential to writing a good specification.

Specification Formats: A good specification describes what must be achieved and not how it is achieved. Test methods must have sufficient flexibility to work for a variety of different approaches. Specifications are broken down into individual paragraphs dealing with individual features of the system. Specification items are discussed according to the relation to training requirements, specification of the feature at different levels of fidelity, and test procedures for verifying that the system meets the specification

Detailed Specifications: Examples of specifications are presented for each area of system performance.
