Specialized 2-day Course to enhance your knowledge and use of Flight and Ground Vehicle Simulation systems
January 27-28, 2014 at Binghamton University, Binghamton, New York
As an introduction to the Training & Simulation Database Engineering discipline, this course will cover a wide range of technologies and commercial off-the-shelf tool sets used during design, development and deployment of Training Databases. Participants will be instructed in the utilization of a systems engineering approach used on successful Database projects. This course is not intend to teach 3D modeling, art concepts, or data editing tools. Instead it will focus on the Engineering and Project Management aspects of Database creation.
Olen Atkins is Wegmann USA's Training and Simulation Program Manger. He was the Operations Manager for the Army's SE Core Database-Virtual Environment Development (DVED) Program, the Geo-Spatial Synthetic Environment Manager at Link Simulation and Training, Arlington TX, and the Program Engineering Manger at Diamond Visionics, Binghamton NY, as well as the Visual Simulation System Manger for MarineSafety, Queens, NY. During his past 14 years he has been involved in numerous technical areas of visual simulation including: ship handling, fixed and rotary wing aircraft, ground troops and vehicles, UAVs and medical trainers, implementing image generators, geo-spatial databases, and sensor simulations. Through these experiences he has acquired a breadth and depth of the visual simulation discipline that covers topics ranging from systems engineering to project management to individual tool user.
