Computer Science Faculty Position
Applications are invited for a tenure-track position at the Assistant/Associate Professor level beginning in Fall 2012. Salary and startup packages are competitive. We seek candidates with specialization in embedded systems and energy-aware computing or areas related to systems development. Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Computer Science or a closely related discipline by the time of appointment. Strong evidence of research capabilities and commitment to teaching are essential. Junior tenure track faculty have a significantly reduced teaching load for at least the first three years.
Binghamton, nationally recognized for its academic excellence, is one of the four Ph.D. granting University Centers within the SUNY system. The Department has well- established Ph.D. and M.S. programs, an accredited B.S. program and is on a successful and aggressive recruitment plan. The newly-established, NSF-supported campus industry-university collaborative research center on energy-efficient electronic systems and local high-tech companies such as IBM, Lockheed-Martin and BAE provide opportunities for collaboration. Binghamton borders the scenic Finger Lakes region of New York.
