Teaching/Research Focus: Polymers, soft materials, nanomaterials, nanotechnology, characterization, scattering, printable electronics
Bio Sketch: Howard Wang obtained his bachelor of science in physics from Peking University in 1992, and received his PhD in materials science and engineering from the University of Pennsylvania in 1999. After completing his postdoctoral research at the National Institute of Standards and Technology, Wang joined the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at the Michigan Technological University as an assistant professor in 2002. Wang moved to Binghamton University in 2006.
Wang's research focuses on materials aspects of advancing nanotechnology and biotechnology. His interdisciplinary research program integrates nanomaterials synthesis, characterization, processing and application. His group's recent studies involve synthesizing carbon nanotubes, metal oxide nanowires, metal nanoparticles, dispersing nano-objects in solutions, gels, polymers and ceramics, assembling them into ordered structures, and fabricating flexible electronics, nanocomposites and biosensors for applications
